Educational Programs for Schools
A range of exciting and innovative educational programs focusing on Australia’s rich cultural heritage and highlighting indigenous culture are available.
Mia Mia Gallery is proud to offer educational school tours for primary school, secondary school, TAFE and university students from all over Victoria.
Our program is comprehensive and lasts approximately 80 minutes. It includes the following:
- Bush Walk – An adventure all on its own! A walk through Westerfolds Park covering aspects of Aboriginal life including the Indigenous relationship with nature and harvesting techniques.
- Boomerang Throwing – What more can we say? We teach students the proper way to throw one of mankind’s oldest inventions, guaranteed* to come back!
- Didgeridoo Playing – Listen as a professional musician makes music the likes of which you’ve never heard before!
- Indigenous Artifacts Exploration
- Brief Talk Regarding Aboriginal Art & Gallery
Additionally, school coordinators are encouraged to organize a program specifically designed to meet the curriculum needs of their students, as they see fit.
Pricing is $12.50 per student. Minimum group booking is $400.00.
